The person who cooks the bhog must maintain silence so that not
even a drop of spit falls into the bhog from his/her mouth.
Ø
Meat and fish is offered to Mother Kali during her puja.
Ø
These non-vegetarian foods must be cooked without onions and
garlic.
· Saraswati
Puja –

Niramish Bhog-er Khichuri
Ø 'Bhajis',
'Labra' 'Chatni', Fruits and 'Kheer'.
Ø Dodhi-karma (The bhog made by Curd , Khoi ,Fruits,Sugar).
· Jagaddhatri
Puja –

Ashtami Bhog which is the food offered to Devi
which is later distributed among the devotees.
Ø
Rituals of animal sacrifices are held ( in Bengali it is
known as Boli) , but animals are now substituted with 'chalkumro' (type of
pumpkin), cucumber and banana.

Lakshmi
Puja –
Ø
Naivedya (Holy food item), a mixture of coagulated cow’s milk (khava), sugar,
cardamom and cloves.
Ø
Then items like coriander, jaggery, corn obtained from
parched, uncleaned rice, sugar candies (battase), etc. are offered to
Goddess Lakshmi and then distributed to well-wishers and friends.
· Makar
Sankranti –
Ø
In
a plate keep four white and four black Til ladoos .
Ø
Mixture
of rice flour and turmeric powder , betel nuts and leaves ,holy water,flower
and incense sticks.
Ø
Ghevar(sweet
dish) , four black and white ladoos.
· Janmashtami
Puja –
Ø
Bhog comprising
of fruits, kheer, pedha etc… is offered to Lord.
Ø
In temples “CHAPPAN BHOG” is offered to Lord Krishna.
· Maha Shivratri –

traditional offering made to Lord Vishwakarma consists of mounds of rice mixed
